This “comedy-with-a-kick play, by Kathleen Clark, “is set on the sidelines of a mother-son soccer game, where three women discover that the competition kindles a desire to recapture their spirit of adventure.”

If this sounds like something down your alley, be sure to check it out.  It runs through this weekend through March 14 at the Looby Theatre.  Showtimes are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday at 2:30pm.  For more info, call (615) 681-7220 or check out the Tennessee Women’s Theater Project website.

I just came acros this joke on the Internet and thought I’d share it with you.  Very funny!  Anyone have any good apartment hunting stories to share?  I’d love to hear them.

Bill and Sarah were Londoners and were blessed with seven healthy children. After many months of discussion, they finally decided to move to New York. It should have been a simple enough move, but when they arrived, they had great difficulty finding a suitable apartment to live in.
Although many were big enough, the landlords always seemed to object to such a large family living there. If only Bill wasn’t so honest about the size of his family!
After several days of unsuccessful searching, Bill had an idea. He told Sarah to take the four younger children to visit the local cemetery while he went with the older three children to find an apartment. After looking for most of the morning, Bill found a place that was ideal.
The landlord asked him, “How many children do you have?”
Bill answered with a deep sigh, “Seven . . . but four are with their dear mother in the cemetery.”
He got the apartment!

Is Your Child A Star?

Posted on February 26, 2010 · Leave a Comment

Is your child is anything like my 4 year-old (well, 5 this weekend)?  Sometimes I swear she is destined for the stage or screen.  Happy, sad, angry – whatever the emotion is, she can get into the mood almost on cure.  Usually she uses her “talent” to manipulate me into getting her something she wants…like Fruit Loops instead of Shredded Wheat.  Oh well, what can I do?  There’s something about the sad face gets me every time.

In any case, I just came across this info on a child acting workshop here in town.  If you think you’re little one is headed for Broadway, it might be worth checking out.

Rose Music Group is currently accepting applications for their March 2010 Children’s Acting Workshop. More information can be found at http://rosemusicgroup.com or by calling 615-736-5103. The workshop takes place March 13th, 20th, and 27th. Price for the workshop is $120. Students will record an audition tape and meet with a well-known local talent agency on the final day of the workshop. Parents enrolling more than one child will receive a discount.

Mardi Gras in Nashville

Posted on February 16, 2010 · Leave a Comment

mardigras4Yes, Mardi Gras happens outside of Bourbon Street. Nashville has something to offer for Mardi Grass, too. You can go out on the town for some Cajun or Creole style food at several Nashville restaurants including Nola’s and French Quarter.

If you want to stay home though and bring Mardi Gras to Stewarts Ferry you can make your own Mardi Gras dinner. Regardless, just make sure you enjoy your day and have a wonderful evening!

Feel free to share your plans.
